Dilemma and Countermeasures of Bamboo Industry in Ningbo

The bamboo industry is an important rural industry with a glorious history in Ningbo, which has created the five tops. Nevertheless, in the 21st century, the bamboo industry is falling behind, although the area of bamboo forest is increasing year by year, the quality of bamboo forest is declining. The bamboo industry has eencountered a bottleneck which characterized by a shortage of entrepreneurs and innovative talents, the difficulty of popularizing the labor-saving under-forest economic development mode, the difficulty of cultivating bamboo and mechanizing bamboo (bamboo shoots) harvesting and transportation, difficulties in the integration of the bamboo industry, and weak policy support. The bamboo industry has also been in a dilemma which characterized by the serious disconnection of bamboo production chain, difficulties in developing the environment-friendly bamboo processing technology, the whole bamboo utilization technology, the industrialized anti-mildew and crack-proof technology of bamboo, new product development of bamboo shoots, the publicity and promotion of bamboo product consumption and trade. Therefore, in this paper, it was proposed that we should build a complete bamboo industry chain, a bamboo industry policy support system and a bamboo (bamboo shoots) product marketing network system, which will promote the high-quality development of the bamboo industry in Ningbo.
