Abstract(600) PDF(192)
Abstract:
The introduction of bamboo from South China to North China, which began in the 1950s, is the greatest biological project in the history of Chinese bamboo industry, with unprecedented range, duration, scale and bamboo species, as well as effects and lessons. At present, it is still rich in endogenous impetus and has great potential under the background of ecological civilization construction. How to meet the demand of industrial and agricultural materials with medium size bamboo, meet the food demand of people with delicious bamboo shoots, meet the spiritual demand of people with beautiful bamboo scenery, and meet the cultural demand of people with creative bamboo products, so as to realize the leap from bamboo species northward to industry northward. This is the key to whether the introduction of bamboo from South China to North China can continue.

Abstract(442) PDF(93)
Abstract:
To investigate the effects of various management practices on the physiological characteristics of newly emerged bamboo shoots under strip cutting, the pure bamboo forest were used as the experimental field, in which the conventional selective cutting was overturned by strip cutting. An orthogonal experiment was designed with strip cutting width, fertilization method and fertilizer amount as three factors at three levels, and the contents of chlorophyll, starch, cellulose and soluble protein of bamboo shoots were analyzed. The results revealed that when the strip cutting width was 8 m, contents of chlorophyll, starch, cellulose and soluble protein were the highest, amounted to 27.74 mg·l-1, 264.91 mg·g-1, 568.33 mg·g-1 and 0.53 mg·g-1, respectively. Fertilization methods and fertilizer amount had less effect on physiological characteristics of newly emerged bamboo shoots and there was no significant difference, the furrow application of 15 cm was superior to the spread application and furrow application of 25 cm, application of compound fertilizer 1 125 kg·hm-2 was better than 900 kg·hm-2 and 1 350 kg·hm-2. Considering the physiological indexes of bamboo, the optimal management combination was A2B2C2, that is, strip cutting width of 8m, furrow application around 15 cm, and compound fertilizer of 1 125 kg·hm-2, respectively.

Abstract(435) PDF(38)
Abstract:
Bamboo fiber is a type of high value-added bamboo products. In order to give full play to the advantages of various bamboos and solve the problems of interspecies differences in bamboo processing and utilization and difficult extraction of bamboo fiber during mechanical fiber opening, the effects of bamboo species, initial water content and softening method on its fiber opening conditions were analyzed, and the fiber characteristics of various bamboo species were analyzed. The methods of alkali boiling softening and normal temperature pressure infiltration were used. The results showed that the effects of softening parameters on sympodial bamboos and amphipodial bamboos were greater than that of monopodial bamboos. Sympodial bamboo had better softening effect and high fiber yield. In descending order, the fiber yield of each bamboo species was, Neosinocalamus affinis, Bambusa rigida, Pleioblastus amarus, Phyllostachys edulis. The fiber yield of fresh samples of Neosinocalamus affinis was the highest, amounting to 65.47%. The fiber yield of dried Phyllostachys edulis was the lowest, being 34.74%. The higher the initial water content of bamboo, the better the fiber opening effect after cooking and softening. The fiber yield of Neosinocalamus affinis with 40% initial water content was the highest, being 28.09% higher than that of those with 5% initial water content. The fiber yield of Pleioblastus amarus with 5%initial water content was 38.21%, being the lowest. The average fiber length of fresh bamboo was generally greater than that of the drying group. The fiber difference between the fresh and drying group of Bambusa rigida and Pleioblastus amarus was the largest, and the fiber difference between the fresh and the drying group of Phyllostachys edulis was the smallest. The fiber fineness of the dried group was more uniform than that of the fresh group, and the fineness of each bamboo species ranged mainly in 100-200 μM interval. The mechanical properties of bamboo fiber prepared by mechanical fiber opening were the best, and they varied with bamboo species, and the initial water content of bamboo had little effect on the mechanical properties of fiber. Thus, there were significant differences in fiber opening conditions and fiber characteristics of different bamboo species. In the development and utilization of bamboo resources, it is necessary to develop strengths and avoid weaknesses.

Abstract:
Making lignocellulose from renewable resources is all the rage. It has natural advantages in replacing petrochemical products. In this study, lignocellulose material from Dendrocalamus sinicus was modified with 6 mL epichlorohydrin at 120℃ for 4 h. Characteristic of raw and modified materials was comparatively studied by scanning electron microscope (SEM)、X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS)、Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometry (FTIR)、X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TG). The results indicated that the weight of materials increased 68% after modified. With the increase of ether bonds in material, the peak intensity of C-O in XPS spectra increased. Modification with epichlorohydrin also increased the thermal stability of Dendrocalamus sinicus lignocellulose. The maximum degradation temperature of modified materials shifted to high temperature (374℃) as compared to the raw materials (315℃).

2021, 40(2): 55-59.
Abstract(289) PDF(40)
Abstract:
Bamboo flattening technology is a practical technology for using bamboo efficiently in recent years, which can promote the development of bamboo industry in China to the direction of resource saving and high added value. However, problems such as poor dimensional stability caused by bamboo hydrophilicity are more obvious after bamboo flattening treatment. It is important to improve the hydrophobicity and thermal insulation of flattened bamboo for expanding its application in the field of household. Silica aerogel nanomaterials were used to impregnate the flattened bamboo in vacuum, and the impregnating duration was 3 h,9 h,3 h repeated 3 times. After the impregnation was completed, all the flattened bamboos were dried to a stable mass at 60℃. The surface morphology, water contact angle and thermal conductivity of the flattened bamboo were measured with the field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM),contact angles instrument and thermal conductivity tester. The results showed that with the increase of impregnation duration and times, the adhesion amount of silica aerogel nanoparticles on the flattened bamboo increased, and there was a phenomenon of bulk accumulation. PVA improved the adhesion of silica aerogel powder to a certain extent. After impregnation with silica aerogel, the thermal conductivity of flattened bamboo was reduced by 41%,and its thermal insulation was improved obviously. The maximum surface water contact angle was 130° after 3 impregnating cycles, which was one time higher than that of untreated flattened bamboo (65°). After being impregnated with silica aerogel, the hydrophobicity and thermal insulation of the flattened bamboo were obviously improved, the impregnated modification with silica aerogel powder was a simple and convenient way to prepare flattened bamboo with hydrophobicity and thermal insulation. This is expected to expand the application of flattened bamboo in household products and interior decoration.

Abstract(394) PDF(53)
Abstract:
The bamboo industry is an important rural industry with a glorious history in Ningbo, which has created the five tops. Nevertheless, in the 21st century, the bamboo industry is falling behind, although the area of bamboo forest is increasing year by year, the quality of bamboo forest is declining. The bamboo industry has eencountered a bottleneck which characterized by a shortage of entrepreneurs and innovative talents, the difficulty of popularizing the labor-saving under-forest economic development mode, the difficulty of cultivating bamboo and mechanizing bamboo (bamboo shoots) harvesting and transportation, difficulties in the integration of the bamboo industry, and weak policy support. The bamboo industry has also been in a dilemma which characterized by the serious disconnection of bamboo production chain, difficulties in developing the environment-friendly bamboo processing technology, the whole bamboo utilization technology, the industrialized anti-mildew and crack-proof technology of bamboo, new product development of bamboo shoots, the publicity and promotion of bamboo product consumption and trade. Therefore, in this paper, it was proposed that we should build a complete bamboo industry chain, a bamboo industry policy support system and a bamboo (bamboo shoots) product marketing network system, which will promote the high-quality development of the bamboo industry in Ningbo.
